AcquisitionsDecember 19, 2006 Spencer Coatings Limited made two acquisitions during 2006. In February the industrial paints distribution business of Manders Coatings and Inks was acquired. This business, based at Dublin in Ireland, represented Spencer Coatings Limited and sold primarily to the agriculture and construction equipment after care market.Now under the control and management of Spencer Coatings Limited and transferred to our Belfast facility, we are able to grow the business in the after-care market and develop new business in the industrial OEM market. Michael Keane, Manders Sales Manager, transferred to Spencer Coatings on completion of the transaction. He reports to John Cooper, General Sales Manager, and is responsible for Spencer Coatings business in Southern Ireland and Gary Hughes is responsible for our business in Northern Ireland. Mark Murdock, Depot Manager, and his team in Belfast provide product and service support. In September, Meynell Paints was acquired. This London-based industrial coatings manufacturer have been producing industrial paint for over forty years. Recently the company has focused primarily on security coating systems for the construction industry with its market leading identification products. Production has now been transferred to Aberdeen and the Meynell London factory closed. Gaye Brown, the Meynell Paints Sales Manager, has transferred to Spencer Coatings and is responsible for this market/product sector. |
